There
are many different definitions of a loft. Lofts should have tall
ceilings and an open floor plan. Ideally it would have a combination of
exposed ceilings and ductwork, concrete floors, and if two stories
high, a mezzanine level overlooking the lower floor. True lofts are turn-of-the-century buildings that were constructed of brick or timber.
