Apartment developer Eve Picker of No Wall Productions on Wednesday launched her fourth residential development Downtown, but this one will be a first for her.
Instead of converting an existing structure into loft apartments, she is building a $1 million, three-story building at 947 Liberty Ave., which will contain four residential loft units. The first floor also will house a delicatessen featuring an open-air courtyard enhanced with artwork by James Simons.
The site, formerly occupied by a Tambellini restaurant, was acquired with assistance from the city of Pittsburgh's Urban Redevelopment Authority, which — along with Dollar Bank — is financing the nearly $1 million project.
