Heinz sale made room for lofts

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - October 9, 2004
By Alison Conte

Del Monte occupies six buildings, including the one with the ketchup clock as well as a production plant, research center and office buildings. A total of 1,200 employees work there.

With the sale, Del Monte also took over the production of private-label soup and baby food, which Heinz had manufactured in a newly reconditioned production line at the Pittsburgh plant. The facility had been added to the plant in 1992.
