There's something about living in the midst of Downtown that makes your heart beat a little faster.
Maybe it's knowing that the area's hottest night spots and most exciting entertainment venues are minutes from your front door. Others simply enjoy the short commute to work or the sights and sounds of a bustling urban setting.
For most of us, opting for the convenience (and excitement) of the city over the suburbs means giving up a little in terms of space and amenities. Unless, of course, you're among the lucky few for whom price is no object.
Two centrally located city residences currently on the market paint a pretty picture of what's available to the high-end buyer or renter. One is an ultra-luxurious penthouse apartment in the heart of the Cultural District that runs $3,500 per month, plus utilities. The other is a sprawling, modern-style loft on the fifth and sixth floors of a former industrial building in the Strip District. Cost: $1.8 million, plus a $530 monthly condo fee.
