Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 12:00PM Carnegie is about to see the construction of its first green building.
Benjamin and Amy Bonham, of Moon, who own Bonham Asset Management LLC, want to build the Carnegie Town Lofts, an environmentally friendly and efficient nine-unit residence between Washington Gardens and the Governor's House on Washington Avenue.
Carnegie council gave unanimous site approval to the condominium development Sept. 10, following recommendation from the planning commission.
The contemporary building design will capitalize on natural light and feature tankless water heaters, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and two-car garages. Courtyard areas will offer privacy and doses of the outdoors.
