Originally constructed in 1890 as a printing factory, the conversion of the William G. Johnston Building into 25 luxury apartment loft units was completed in 1999. Floor plans range from 600 to 1,200 square feet. Units were refurbished and feature original wood and tin ceilings, exposed brick, and timber columns. There is 5,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. Renovations were designed by Thomas R. Harley, Architects.

There are 20 rental units in this six-story, 44,000 square foot warehouse loft building located in the Cultural District. Units range between 1,550 to 1,725 square feet in two bedroom configurations. Residences feature 12 to 17-foot high ceilings, large round columns, upscale kitchen with large island, hardwood floors, and translucent sliding panels.

This newly constructed building occupies what was once a a narrow 18-foot wide empty lot. There are three residential units and retail on the ground floor. Units have 15-foot high ceilings, concrete floors, floor to ceiling windows, and stainless steel kitchen appliances. One of the three units is two-stories. Floor plans range from 815 to 1,815 square feet. Completed in January 2003.
In 2003, the project won an Honor Award from the Pittsburgh chapter of the American Institute of Architects and the Pittsburgh Magazine Superior Interiors Award for New Construction and Multifamily Planned Community. Dwell magazine featured the building in the March 2004 issue.
