Designed by Indovina Associates Architects. Groundbreaking on what was formerly a parking lot took place in May 2005 with completion expected in the late summer of 2007.

Original pricing started just over $200,000 to $1.7 million for a penthouse unit.

Neighborhood: Golden Triangle - Downtown 

This newly constructed building occupies what was once a a narrow 18-foot wide empty lot. There are three residential units and retail on the ground floor. Units have 15-foot high ceilings, concrete floors, floor to ceiling windows, and stainless steel kitchen appliances. One of the three units is two-stories. Floor plans range from 815 to 1,815 square feet. Completed in January 2003.

In 2003, the project won an Honor Award from the Pittsburgh chapter of the American Institute of Architects and the Pittsburgh Magazine Superior Interiors Award for New Construction and Multifamily Planned Community. Dwell magazine featured the building in the March 2004 issue.

There are six work/live units in this renovated, seven-story building with narrow floors stretching 110 feet long. Units feature high ceilings, open kitchen layout, exposed brick, timber beams, and hardwood floors. The renovations were completed in 1999. In 2005, the building was one of five projects selected for the Cool Space Awards. Units are used for commercial and residential purposes.

This 21-story building was originally the Union National Bank building, designed by architecture firm MacClure & Spahr and constructed in 1906. It was converted into 61 condominium units with six different floor plan configurations ranging from 1,442 to 2,126 square feet of space. There are 14 one-bedroom units (The Grand floor plan), 46 two-bedroom units, and a penthouse suite. Of the two-bedroom units, there are seven duplex units with two-levels (Alex Townhouse floor plan) Units on floors 2 to 15 feature carpeted and tile floors, vessel sinks, stainless steel appliances. Units on floors 16 to 20 feature granite and carpeted floors, upscale kitchens including granite counter tops, and under mounted sinks. The penthouse unit on the 21st floor has 6,000 square feet of space.

Building amenities include a doorman, valet, a terrace on the fourth floor, community room, and business center.

Original pricing started at $189,000 for a one bedroom up to $1.9 million for the penthouse. 

Phase II of the Carlyle will be the renovation of the adjoining Commonwealth Building which was designed by Frederick J. Osterling and originally completed in 1906.
