The former YMCA building is being converted into a condominium with 40 loft units. The building will have 4,200 square feet of retail space on the first floor and five residential floors including a new sixth penthouse floor with a roof terrace. The units range in size from 700 square feet to 1,500 square feet. Residences feature 9-1/2 feet to 14 feet high ceilings, large windows, red oak wood flooring, plus European-style kitchens with aluminum framed frosted glass cabinets granite counter tops, and stainless steel appliances. Building amenities include a roof top deck, dog washing station, bike room, and underground parking garage. The five-story building was built in 1908 and at one time was a major activity center for the neighborhood.
Designed by architecture firm Moss Architects and previously by Sample Brown Design. Original pricing is expected to start at $160,000.
Delivery timeframe: Unknown. Construction is expected to start as early as Fall 2008 or in Spring 2009.
